I've got some cards, but the last pack I bought was from 5th edition. And before that, I bought the very first starter (way back in 93). They're oooooooold...

I bought the first set of cards they commercially released over 5 years ago, but I haven't played since. Many of my friends are still very much into it, hell, they spend about $100 a month on cards and get together to play a lot.

If you're not willing to spend a lot of money, is Magic still worth it to play for fun?

Bube, your "old" cards are probably worth quite a bit, especially if you have some from Alpha or Beta (the old blackbordered ones without dates on them).

Me myself... I play the game very, very often.

No ****!

I used to play. Like 1995-2000/2001 somewhere in there. I've probably got several thousand cards laying around.

I think my two all time favorite cards were Hammer of Borgardan (originally from mirage)

1RR

Deals 3 to target player/creature

During your upkeep you may spend 1RR to return Hammer of Borgardan from your graveyard to your hand

My other favorite card was Emperial Armor. I believe it was originally in Weatherlight or Visions.

Enchantment
2WW

Target creature gains +X/+X where X equals the number of cards in your hand.

Last set I bought cards for was Invasion, last set I last really played was the Urza/Mercadian Bloc.

No, I just checked my cards, but there aren't any blackbordered and dateless cards. I've got a ton of blackbordered, and a few dateless, but none with both.

Ahh, whatever. Does anyone know how much a Stone Gargoyle, blackbordered would be worth? I got ripped off by a "friend" when I was 7. He gave me a Noritt and an Ornithoper (?).

And what about Demonic Tutor? Another friend took my Demonic Tutor and Ornithoper to buy me a 5th Edition Starter set. Ripped off again! I admit, I'm not very good at this...
