Why is it that i am the only person here who sees a chance....albeit a small one for the Canucks?

Any team has a chance. make no mistake of that.

But no bertuzzi in playoffs really hurts them.

You're the only one hoping for them to win, so nobody really has much to say about them since we're all fans of other teams and we like to say that our teams will win. That's all really..

Go Flyers!

Well, I'm back from a month in mexico. I was in my hotel room watching some CNN when a little caption on the bertuzzi thing buzzed across the screen. I didn't really know what happened and i didn't have access to competent internet services.

So ya, i've been in the dark all this time. From what I heard Moore wouldn't fight so Bert skated after him and punched him in the head and stuff. I also heard that bert fell on him after..so which one broke the guys neck.

I agree Bert should be out for the year. I **** hockey and it stuff and the canucks are my fav......but I still think he should be gone for a bit.

I hate how this is going to affect bert throughout the league though. There's just as cheap shots thrown atleast once a week but he was unlucky enough to break the dude's neck. I mean, the league doesn't want this thing happening so they set the instigator rule but then don't enforce it? It's a bitch.

I'll have to download a video clip of it before i can really comment on the actuall incident and stuff...but it seems kind of ironic. A hit that could easily have been just as or much worse was ignored by the league COMPLETELY and then they jump all over this. Bert isn't some crazy dirty player. He has a temper and he's a big guy, but the get's more rap then he deserves. If he was in any other city like Detroit or Toronto people wouldn't be so harsh on him. It's a pitty to see him being booed in many of hte other arenas just because he's such a dominate force on the ice(although this year has been the ****).

Well, I can't say bert will be missed much in the playoffs. Sure, he could easily be the deciding factor in the games but he hasn't pulled his weight at all this year. He doesn't have the same fire and intensity that he had before this season. It'll be a chance for other guys on the nucks to step up and fill his role.

I feel sorry for Moore as well. Damn, you make a mistake by hitting the league's best player and bam, your neck's broke.

aight...this is kind of depressing.

and **** Gary Bettman.

Hoorah. Bouncer has returned.

I'd like to see all the canadian teams make the playoffs this year. Looks like it could happen too.

whether he fell or purposly went ontop is up in the air. i kinda feel NHL players would be able to keep themselves up at that point.

Acually i feel if he was in one of thoes cities and did that thier home fans woulda jumped over him as well. but i feel same punishment woulda implied.

He is boo'd because he is a dominate player, thats part of hockey tho. But that is NOT the only reason. He's booed much of the time becaue he's a cocky arrogent ass. And you better believe the next time Canucks meet the Wild in a playoff game, minnasota is going to remember thoes cocky words he told them last year.

he's going to be missed in the playoffs. thats the time when you need all your players, and expecially your top ones, and its a time when players like bertuzzi really step up tho.
But yes, it is going to be a chance for other guys to step up and work thier tails off to cover for him. and thats going to serve them all very well.

this is the only thing you said that really bothers me.... Moore made no mistake, Moore did his job, There was nothing wrong with it. And to think he got his neck broke because he didnt want a confrontation is quite sad really. (and on a joking side, best player wasnt even in that game cuz he wasnt on thoes 2 teams )

I do not think Moore should have hit Naslund, just because of a respect factor... But it was not a dirty hit.

And if Bertuzzi was on the Leafs, he probably would have gotten a longer suspension (just look at Aki Berg compared to Messier and Turco).

And bouncer, don't be mad at Betman... He is not the man who hands out suspensions...

What do you mean moore made no mistake? He tried to injure the leagues best player at the time( Naslund) watch the video again, he sticks out his elbow to hit him in the nose! And moore thought that fighting Cooke would even everything out....So he injures The Canucks best player for a week and a half, then Gets into a fight with the Smallest player on our team......I can see why thats fair. And no, i dont blame Betuzzi for what he did. He was pissed off at Moore for giving his Best friend a concussion, and he was frusterated because at the time we were behind Colorado(in points) by about 2 or 3 and it was an important game, and we were losing 9-2. I would be a little frusterated, and who better to take that anger out on Moore? He PROBABLY didnt mean to do the extent of this though. The thing that pisses me off the most is that Berts my 2nd Fav. player( next to Linden) and the media was making him sound like a monster, like he didnt care what he did or something.

(please not because of my A**holeishness, im not saying anyone else is wrong,.....just that in less wronger. I have enough people on Gametavern who think im a big retad already anyways)

I don't think the media was making him out to be a monster.... But what he did was pretty damn vicious.

The Vancouver media was...for the following week every channel always had something about Betuzzi, and they just kept showing when he hit Moore, and when Bertuzzi and Blake bot fell on Moores head. They didnt say anything about how he was sorry.

(Canucks play Dallas tonight for home-ice advantage in the playoffs....Im takin bets on the score....Van 4 Dallas 2....)

Exactly. I don't care what the hell the context was, and what Moore did to Naslund, etc. Bertuzzi punched the guy in the back of head and broke his neck. I repeat, broke his neck. Yes, he didn't mean to hurt him that bad (but he did mean to hurt him) and violence is a part of hockey, but this was a serious offense. He was only a "monster" because well, he commited a monstrous act of seriously injuring someone and possibly ending their career. That isn't excusable, not one bit.
