There's a guy near the area I work who is on crutches (now he has crutches, at first he just had a cane) who first approached me and my friend like a year ago... "You look like reasonable people, with the job market problems lately, I've lost my job, blah blah etc etc give me money"...

Then we hadn't seen him around for awhile, but recently he's come back... He approached me like twice... This time he has crutches, but the same story...

The other day I took the metro to the other side of town (granted Arlington isn't very big), and saw him getting off the metro there too...

My hunch is that he was going to work...

several times i've given a pizza box with a few slices left to people, i dislike giving people money directly. I'm untrusting that way...

I dont give anything to homeless people, they would just spend it on booze or heroin...street performers might spend it on the same thing, but they are working for it, instead of begging and pleading because theyre mother is in jail and their husband brutally beats them, and they have a baby due in a week...or something like that..

I'm not sure what my stance on this is. I tend to give out change if I do in fact have it to people, just because...Could they really just be spending it on alcohol or drugs? Sure, but it doesn't effect me too much to give out 25 cents or a buck here and there. At age eighteen I've given out, at the most, $15 maybe to homeless people...If one of them spent it for a nice meal, then I've got no problems.

I was in Victoria yesterday (nicest city in the world IMO) and there were quite a few bums. But onlt in China Town. At the wharf on the water front there were all sorts of neat street performers. I give the performers money. not the china town bums though. If I'm going to give you money, you better do something to make it worth it.

i dont give bums money...thats it, i just dont...my opinion on them is about the same as everybody elses
