Re: Zelda GCN Speculation or What You Want to See in the New Zelda Game
I really really liked DeathsHand's description of the game. A realistic zelda, on a HUGE continent, where the world grows and changes with you is just a spectacular idea. I think there should be several modes of transportation, like a raft (as DeathsHand said) where you can take trips down a river or over an ocean, and fish off of it or just go joy riding or exploring.
We already know there will be a horse, and horse fights, so that will be super awesome.
I also liked Canyarion's controller set up. Running with the joy-stick and fighting with the C stick will be awesome. I would love it if the movements of your sword were limitless. Four example, any direction I push the c-stick, my sword would swing that EXACT direction. Can you imagine that? And if you spin your C-stick rapidly, your sword would do the same thing. What I'm proposing is a direct link between the c-stick and the sword.
I deffinatly want to see gannon...it just has to have him in it. I really dont care if it's a sequal to WW or not. Either way, I think it will be good.
I want there to be TONS of weapons, TONS of places to explore, and TONS of sidequests.

I want a badass fishing game built in. I want to catch some ****ing monster fish and have fun doing it.
Dunno, I always lose interest about halfway through zelda games. My attention span or something just can't take it.

Yes, we need fishing again.
I remember when magazines/websites were saying OoT's fishing was tons better then standalone fishing games.

Because every other fishing game is on extremely low budget, and no one in their right mind buys a fishing game.

Re: Zelda GCN Speculation or What You Want to See in the New Zelda Game
A (better) Market Area (in each village)
You should be able to:
-- Catch fish and sell/trade them at the market.
-- Trees should also bare fruit which too can be sold/traded. Of course, fruit that's not native to a village(or rare fruit in general) will sell for lots of ruppies.
Realtime "clock" gameplay
For instance:
-- Horse racing every Saturday!
-- Were you should be able to bet on the race. A cleverly designed stats system could allow you to narrow your bet to near 50/50. Or, you may wish to participate in the race yourself, choosing to compete for ruppies or prises. Perhaps even getting someone to bet on you/Epona while you race for prises. Win the race, claim you prise, then you and your accomplice can split the ruppies. hehehe (I'm surely getting carried away now)
-- Thursdays seem like a great day to go Raft-racing down the rivers of Hyrule.
*People may grow impatient with the whole realtime clock thing. So Nintendo could simulate it instead. Keeping the days in the week, but one "game-day" could last for just 2 hours in the realtime.
-- People might want to travel from village to village. Why not give 'em a lift on Epona if you aren't in a hurry? Sure, all in a day's work of a hero! It'll cose 'em a fee of course!
Bonuses: Incentive to play again
-- Each boss should have a secret "artifacts"(for lack of better word) that Link can cease during battle-- you'll have to figure out what those artifacts are for each boss. For instance, The Tooth of The Fire Dragon, or The Scale of the Sea Serpant. Besides showing them to villagers as proof of your greatness, gaining respect and listening to their salutes, you should be able to trade them to various people next time you start a new file, for some cool items/goodies in return. (too wishful?)

Re: Zelda GCN Speculation or What You Want to See in the New Zelda Game
D-realJos, your post reminded me of a game I play way too much *looks at sig and avatar*
But Anyway... all I want it to be is innovative. I want it to throw a curve ball at me that I didn't expect, like in MM for N64. So with that said, I can't realy ask for much. Oh.. well, one thing, It would be nice if this game incorperated the stories of WW and OoT in it, or somehow linked other Zelda games. There is a story gap between OoT and WW that could be told, but we all know how it ends... well, not exactly, but Hyrule becomes flooded after Gannondorf is "defeated" again.

FFX1 huh. Never played it, but with it being an online RPG, it had BETTER have such a system. Apparently, it does.

Re: Zelda GCN Speculation or What You Want to See in the New Zelda Game
I like D-realJos's idea about the better market, it got me thinking that Zelda should have a market like that in Secret of Evermore in the Desert area... Lots of different items to buy and trade...
Or at least a trade system like in Suikoden III, but instead of having it only earn you Rupies, there could also be rare occasions where you could trade for useful items for your quest... For instance, the Tooth of the Fire Dragon, or the Scale of the Sea Serpent...

That was done before in Metal Gear Solid 2. Honestly, I wasn't too found of it...it doesn't work as well as you might think.

Yes, the character was using a sword. Why else would I compare it to this?

Re: Zelda GCN Speculation or What You Want to See in the New Zelda Game
Raiden's sword system in MGS2.. I liked it for a while, but in the end it just got repetitive. I don't think the C-stick could take the stress like that anyways.

Re: Zelda GCN Speculation or What You Want to See in the New Zelda Game
I think that was mainly Konami's fault and not the idea itself... If they made the sword controls a little more sensitive (analog-esque), more responsive, and gave the player a bigger choice of moves to do, it could work very well...
But I think even if they do let you control the sword with the C-stick for advanced attacks, there should still be the classic combo attack done by hitting B a few times...

Maybe they should do what they did in StarFox Adventures, except use the c-stick to make some complicated combos to kick anyguys ass. Of course you would learn how to do it first.
