Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO
if Sony was has big plans for the HDD and GTASA requires it, they'd be really smart if they get Rockstar to bundle the game with the PS2 HDD for an extra $30 or so.

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO
if you think about it, the ps2 doesn't have enough ram to do that big of city, remember how long it takes to load the GTA games? long time... imaginging having to load each time you left one city... i'm betting they'll use the harddrive. that way it can load on the fly ala halo. but they will have to do something about the price of those things. (could it also imply online play?)

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO
I read the rumors at a site for this...and they filled my head with speculation and whatnot.
But i also read( not a rumor) that breaking and entering wont be as lame as robbing stores in VC, because it says breaking and entering requires "Skill and planning" which hopefully means you can ransack it.
I also read that San Andreas will be a direct sequal to GTA3, but i find this strange. Isnt SA supposed to be in the early 90's....while GTA3 was late 90's. So how can SA be a sequal?
And the idea of multi-lay would 100% (IMO) have to have a hard drive or two. Think about it, if you stray too far from eachother, and one of you goes into an are that needs to be loaded, then everything stops for both of you. Uber annoyng.
And it will probably require a HD, because they are a company, and companies like money, so they will do what htey can to make more of it. And they have the right formula too. Make 1 awesome game. Hype up awesome game. Make awesome game need a HD. seemed to work, because i know i'll buy i HD if it needs one, but nly if it isnt too expensive.

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO
maybe have multiplayer be real time... such as if one player plays more than the other, it'll effect the stream of events the other player goes through.
say you could be playing with the other player at the same time, and then when he's sleeping at his apartment you could be playing and getting ahead, or maybe just having fun, and it'll show on the other player's stats, that would def need the HDD to store both player's individual happenings.

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO
This game sounds great to me, and I have an HDD so no problems if it requires it or not. If this game does require it, though, I think they should put some type of online features in it because it's impossible to install a HDD on your Ps2 without a Modem.
This game and Halo 2 should be enough to rip me off of FFXI.

Yep, the modem connects to the back of the Ps2, and the HDD connects to the "back" of the Modem. With that said, this game better have some damn good online features if it's going to require the HDD.
