That's kind of cool, except for the part where the guy has to now pay for his windshield to be replaced. I mean, will his insurance cover a turtle smashing his windshield?

Yeah...so if the turtle was winning the race, they'd hit the turtle first, and then the rabbit, right? At least that's how I see it in my fictional story.

Depends on which direction it was to the end of the line. It has a fifty per cent chance of being the direction the car is travelling.
Also, wind resistance has to be a factor.
