True, but i dont even want to put my 'quality' pieces in it, in fear of plagorism.

Are the people here who write things, too scared to show it or something? I mean come on....we need peotic diversity here.

I don't actually write poems often at all...It's something that I don't quite have the patience for. I'm not really good at revising my work, and that is something pretty much essential to poetry because every word is so important...If I was still writing more poems, I'd probably post them, but I haven't written any and don't plan to for a bit..

Here's a poem a made recently. Its being made into a song by a friend of mine.


26 Going on Infinity

Caught out in the rain
Somewhere between Pride and Shame
Will I be here again?
Maybe I want to

The road goes on for miles
Covered in a thousand tiles
Pictures of me as a child
Youth lost to you

Don’t know what I want to be
College wasn’t much help to me
Can’t find my Identity
26 going on Infinity

Trapped by self doubt
Stick my thumb out
In frustration I shout
Only I can hear

Time to walk
Ahead and not balk
Erase the lines of chalk
That I fear

This isn’t how it was supposed to be
Live my life for me
I don’t want an Identity
26 going on Infinity


The first two stanzas are really the only one's that I think are any good, but I needed two more for the song so I made something up about hitchhiking through life.

And incase any of you were wondering, my main influence is TS Elliot, and if any of you have read him before you'll probably see the similarity/rip off.

The waking eyes of night,
stare blankly from above,
sitting in my house,
thinking of my love,

The deaf ears of despair,
listen from behind,
while I think about her,
and slowly lose my mind,

The mute lips of bliss,
are talking in my ear,
I want to be anywhere,
anywhere but here,

The beautiful face of death,
stares into my eyes,
you open your mouth to talk,
but all i hear are lies,

The face of an angel,
the mind of a child,
I can wait for you to make up your mind,
because i can wait a while.


Its a song/Poem thing, i know its not really all too good, but its slightly growing on me. IF i wanted to make it into a song, i made little extra stanzas to make it more song-ish, but im not posting them, because you dont know the beat in my head, so it would sound all wrong.
