a heatsink is a metal piece that absorbs heat created by a component. It is made out of a metal which transfers heat easily so that it can carry the heat from one end to another quickly, at which point it is dissipated. A combination heatsink and fan works best. Oh, and Jonbo, thats the same fan i have, but its for an AMD 2500+, no I'm not overcompensating for something
