Sorry on not replying Germy. Didn't think about it until now. I don't think the drives are broken. Best advice on if one works, then the other works is to reinstall windows in case its acting up for some reason.

As for Cyrax, I can't help ya there. Wish I could since it sounds like a good challenge but I don't have the "smarts" to use Linux/Linux based drivers yet to code up something

Seems like they aren't broken...I didn't really do anything to them and they seem to be working fine now, I dunno.
