And yes, it is a hard game. Just make sure you're on beginner mode.
I was wanting to talk to you about this game on MSN, but there is something wrong with my MSN and I can't messege anyone...so I'll just put all my questions on this thread.

1. Is it possible to change the controls to the analog stick?! What idiot would make a fighting game and only be able to use the d pad?! I tried going into the control options, but I couldnt find anything to help me.

2. Do you happen to know if there is a top tier in this game? And if so, do you know who they are?

Thanks...I'll have more questions later, probably.

Dude... Analog sucks for fighters. D-Pad = Awesome...

If you can't do D-Pad stuff, you have no chance in Guilty Gear.

And no, we didn't get le XBox because we have a friend with one, who isn't using it.

o_O

If the d-pad is so awesome and the analog is so bad, than why does every fighting arcade machine ever made have a large joy stick?

It's insane trying to do those d, df, f, uf motions with a d-pad.

If a D-pad was better, than arcade machines would have been born with a d-pad.

Because at an arcade its just that. A large stick. Analog is a small thumb rotatey thing. Its easier to use your whole hand than just your thumb.

But D-pad is easier, way easier.

I don't think there is any option to change it. What analog option there is: clicking R3 and L3 together to restage yourself in a tutorial match.

I know who isn't top tier. Don't use Lau, Lei Fei, Brad, Jacky, or Kage, because they're all either shallow characters or characters people use a lot. You can use them to start out if you want, but you'll find they aren't as deep as the other fighters.

I started with Akira, but he was too hard to master, so I went down a step and went with Pai. Pai suits my quick-thinking, quick combo-performing ways, rather than patience and timing.

The strength of Chipp Zanuff lies in his speed and jumping. I'm not a jumping kind of fighter.

I would totally own you with Chun-Li.

She's top tier in that game...

Ken is pretty close to her though... I hate him, he's so freaking fast, it's like bam bam bam.

Yeah...you gotta hate that "bam bam bam"

And I am slowely slipping futher and further into being obsessed with fighting games. I bought Virtua Fighter 4: Evo, GGXX, and now I am seriously considering getting Street Figther Anniversary. If I do get it ($30 dollars at wal mart), I think I'm going to use Ken or Guile. This friend of mine at school (the one who let me borrow Marvel vs. Capcom 2) is going to let me borrow Tekken 4 soon...I cant wait!

John, what's a controller converter? I was just playing some GGXX yesterday, and I suddenlys started pondering on this question, and the only thing I could think of is a controller that you plug into the ps2, but it's made like the arcade controls. Is that right?

And yes...I finally did recieve the copy of GGXX I ordered off of ebay. I pulled it out of the padded package and took a few moments of silence gazing upon the brand new game. Factory sealed and all. I took care when opening it not to damage the box, then I read through the instruction booklet and familiarized myself with most of the normal concepts. Then I started playing it. I took a little time to just go around and look at all the characters (they all look so cool!), before I selected one. I ended up picking Slayer, mostly because he's a vampire.

Well, I must say the game is a bit unusual...I'm currenly training with slayer, trying to master all of his moves. I have one question: What's the boost gauge for? I never really seen myself using it for anything.

I'm also having some trouble with Roman Cancels...could someone explain to me in detail how they work?

After playing for a while I got on my computer and got a faq/movelist for every character and saved it to a disc and moved it to the old computer in my room. I also took some time to look up the top tier in the game...and low and behold, Slayer is top tier! I was very happy that my favorite character was top tier.

BUTTON MASHERS, HOOOOO!!!

button masher ho.

haha
Which fighter game? And button mashers annoy me. -_- My brother is one, and he sometimes can beat me when I actually know what I'm doing. But I've found the best way to beat a button smasher: patience. When my brother goes into button mash mode, I block every attack he throws (I am an excellent blocker...and I pride myself in it. I can block high and low and back again in the blink of an eye), and while blocking I just wait for an opening to appear, then I wail on him.
