Re: Morrowind GotY
Yeah, get the PC version. I don't have either, but the original Morrowind stalled a bunch of times and crashed on my xbox back when I played it. The MODs are crazy for the PC version too.

Re: Morrowind GotY
I only played it on Xbox, and loved it. There are a ton of glitch exploits though... to be honest I didn't like the game all that much until I started cheating. Then I realized how big the world is and how much can be done.
I ended up starting over without using exploits and had a blast.

Do not buy Morrowind. It is my least favorite Xbox game. Do not buy this game.

Re: Morrowind GotY
If I would have never turned into a power hungry guy who exploits the heck out of this game, I think I would be just like Bond.
The game takes a while to get used to... skilling and leveling up is pretty tough, and many of the missions are not explained very well at all. (and the graphics suck) I personally enjoyed being a Thief though, it was so easy to get to the top in that guild, and you can use a lot of trial and error.
Some decisions you make just stick with you until the end. And Because you can spend hundreds of hours going in one direction, decisions suck. (assuming you like the game like I did )
Your first run through I suggest you ignore the story all together and explore. Steal and kill to make money and level. second run, be very careful about your decisions, remember every NPC you kill is gone forever, and can make road blocks for yourself.

Re: Morrowind GotY
I played at least 1 or 2 hundred hours of morrowind and never got past like the first 5 quests of the story...yeah, it's big.

Re: Morrowind GotY
As a FFXI player, I would say Amir...err, DarkMaster could most likely be able to handle the "time consumption" of this game. I played Morrowind for the months that I was waiting for FFXI, not nearly as bad.
Strangler is right though, it is role play. You have to decide what type of character you are and how you would react in certain situations, and stick to it. My character was a Treasure Hunter and assasin. But I think the main reason I went that route is because there is very little responceabilty in that role.
(-EDIT- Any given day I'd steal from or attack random victims... as long as I didn't get caught it worked for me. I ended up robbing the three biggest and heavily guarded "banks" on the game... I was so proud of myself. [of course, I failed robbing them ton of times, but I'd just reload then])
Because a good guy and making a honest living is tough.

Re: Morrowind GotY
I loved Morrowind, but do NOT get this game unless you are able to dedicate extensive hours to gameplay. The game is about immersion and ROLE PLAYING... not hack and slash, not graphics, not nit picking. If you want a world class old school pen and paper RPG translation for the Xbox, get it, but remember I warned you.
But if you have the option of getting it for the PC, it is better on that platform.
