thats if Halo 2 comes out on PC at all, im not so sure how well it would really sell on PC after the dissapointment in the PC world over the first Halo. If it did tho it would prolly be next year.

And for thoes getting HL2, are you getting the normal or Collecters edition? i dont like paying extra for the collecters, but i want that DVD instead of a bunch of CD's...

I'm getting Bronze off Steam *shines off my ati voucher coupon*. I will probably upgrade to silver before the 16th since its a helluva deal for only $10 more for me

From what I've been reading and from talking to my friend who signed up the other day, steam sucks. My friend can't even login half the times. After doing some searching to find a fix for his problem, turns out this is not an uncommon thing at all and that there are tons of other bugs

As far as buying collectors or regular, I too would rather have the dvd than the cds....guess its going to come down to how much money I have at the time

I've been using Steam since December and have had no problems with it so I don't mind Steam being used to play HL2 as I can just backup the GCF files for HL2 onto a dvd or 2.

I'm either getting steam's silver pack or the collector's edition... I don't want a bazillion CDs, and I want that Half-Life: Source...

However I don't want a T-shirt or booklet thing, and steam's silver doesn't come with those and costs 20 bucks less than the collector's pack... But you don't get an actual DVD of the game... *strokes beard*

I've already pre-loaded HL2 from steam though, I'll probably go with steam...

I had pre-ordered the regular retail version just a day or two before they announced the steam packages. I was pretty pissed, but on the other hand I'll have a cool awsome box and a bunch of awsome discs, and I still wont even have to actually put the discs in and take all that time installing the game because ive allready pre-loaded everything so all I'll have to do is punch in the CD-Key and boom, Im playing it baby.

Yea, I couldve I guess, but I guess somehow deep down inside I really wanted that box...that and I didnt want to take the trip to gamestop where I pre-ordered it, because its a good 20 minute car ride, at least.

i actually have a list on my PocketPC with all the games for each platform i'm interested in, a rating of how much im interested in each one, and thier current release dates.

its the only way i can keep track of the ones i'm watching out for. lol.

im just too lazy to go upstairs and grab it to check which ones i had forgotten.

I dont actually live in Peoria. Thats where the gamespot is where I pre-ordered, but I actually live in a small town called Washington roughtly 8 miles outside Peoria. Here in washington the only place to buy games would be Wal-mart or K-mart.

yea but he meant you could just call em and cancel. lol. They could keep the money you pre ordered with under your name, then next time you want to reserve a game, you wouldnt even need to go down there. just call em up. you have XX amount in credit, tell em to use that on the reserve and your done.
