Re: Star Wars Episode III Trailer
What are you talking about? The book for VII, VIII, and IX were never written. Lucas may have had some ideas for a sequel triolgy, but I doubt he went so far as to write scripts or books for them.
He is also NOT seriously considering doing VII, VIII, or IX in the near future. He has been repeatedly quoted as saying he is seriously opposed to doing so. The only future projects planned for the Star Wars are the normal books and games, and a new live-action TV series. Also, there is a possibility for a full length animated TV series (as opposed to the Clone Wars shorts).
I don't know how people have gotten the idea that Lucas has written the scripts for VII, VIII, or IX or squished them into RotJ or whatever. The only time he's mentioned a sequel trilogy was as a half-joke way back when ESB was being made. Anything after that was all rumors or denials.
Also, Joeiss, that is from the EU books written by people other then George Lucas (Luke starting a Jedi Academy would come specifically from Kevin J. Anderson). George Lucas had very little to do with the story (perhaps none at all; depends).
Although I will admit that the Episode II dialogue blew chunks.

Re: Star Wars Episode III Trailer
I like the ideas I've heard (none from official sources, just ideas from fans) around the net about creating star wars movies every once in awhile that aren't really tied into each other by anything except the star wars universe... Ones that aren't handled by Lucas...
Sorta like Star Wars games I guess... like Kotor coulda been a movie, dark foces, etc... Not exactly those games, but just an example of how characters and time periods could jump around and COMPELLING STORIES OF GOOD VS. EVIL COULD BE TOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111
.......
But Lucas would never let that happen...

yes. and funny how times change isnt it? you might want to look up some more recent info on that. Theres been many articles in the past year saying he is now strongly considering making the final 3.
And there was something else about employee's signing contracts making them unable to talk about episodes 7, 8 and 9

Re: Star Wars Episode III Trailer
I've also seen several articles pointing to how he's not making the movies. While, yes, the NDA probably means something, it doesn't necessarily mean movies. The sequels could be made made into a TV series or books or whatever. Or George Lucas could have nothing to do with it.

Re: Star Wars Episode III Trailer
Next time I go home, I should look for some of my old Star Wars books. There was a trilogy that I read which was absolutely amazing... I totally forget what the books were called though, lol. But on one of the covers, I think there was an old man who was a Sith, and he had a bunch of electricity coming out of him or something... But maybe not, who knows.
Actually.... I think the trilogy I read went inbetween episode 4 and 5.... Because I think it started out with Darth Vader's Tie Fighter spinning out of control, and landing somewhere far away..... Which happened at the end of Episode 4.. But oh well.. I might be totally wrong, haha... Anyways, this book trilogy was great.. Really fun to read, and great characters too.

Yes, the bounty hunter series was great...
And I think the one I am thinking about is the "Kahn" series or something? I dunno..

Heir to the Empire/Thrawn Trilogy. Written by Timothy Zahn. This was the book trilogy that revitalized the EU and began the line of Star Wars books that is continuing today (albeit under a different publisher).
They are considered by many to be the ultimate EU stories. Nearly perfect.
