However, I can't help but keep up with all the new stuff the consoles are going to be doing.
I just thought of something:
These Blu-Ray things have a LOT of space on them, right? Well, wouldnt it be possible to include a burner type mechanism inside the console, and when you want to save your game it just writes it to the CD? And it can even be doen in the same fashion CD-RW's are, so that you can write, delete, and rewrite things.
It sounds perfectly logical to me. This way you combine the game and a memory card into one thing, and you don't need a harddrive
|
they don't do that because then you could hook up a burner to your computer and accidentally ruin the game by changing the data, theres a large number of reasons why it isn't done. not to mention the fact that a cd can only be burned for a number of times
but DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN....54 GB? wow, and to think, just 5 years ago, the Playstation used normal CDs.

Re: A little Ps3 info that you probadly knew already
I'll probably have to pass on the consoles for next gen.
After I buy a spanking new PC and start worrying about my tuition, I doubt I'll be purchasing a 500 buck machine.
Besides, I'm sure a lot of people will have one or the other in their dorms.
But honestly, I don't feel like plopping down half a grand for a console and then realise that it only has 1/3 of the games that I truly want to play. It happened this gen and i'm going to remedy it next gen by not buying a console at all. I don't use my cube anyway.
Am I the only one who can't stand not being able to play the killer games on other systems? I want to play GTA: SA but I can't. I could get a ps2, but it'd be a waste of money cuz I'd never use it besideds one or two games. But, halo 2.
this is why i want nintendo and micro to merge.
****
i hate talking about this stuff anyway. So much easier if I just ignore the details in the gaming community.

If anything I would go for the PS3, because i am a (*sigh*) Loyal fan to Sony, and it will no doubt be backwards compatable. And thats big for me.
But i dont know.....I will have to see all the next gen systems, graphics, prices, games line-up, and things like that.

Sony has earned brand preference loyalty from myself as a consumer. I go to them first, but if they dont have what I want, I go elsewhere. The quality of my TV, surround sound system, CD player, PS2 and customer service has done it. Smart company, terrific marketing. And their products appeal to me...
On the other hand, in the slim chance of the PS3 NOT being a quality product, I wouldnt buy it.

I do say, that's the point
When I first came to Nintendose, I was a Nintendo fan. I didnt have blind loyalty to any company. Sony won me over with PS2 and its WEGA TV line. Plus the sales clerk who sold me the TV was one of the nicest people I've ever met. And that's how marketing works...
