There are LCD Monitor's now that have refresh rates that are much better then when they first came out. Now you can get one that doesn't have the ghosting effect when playing fast based games. Albeit they cost a little more obviously.

Well, glad you guys love your LCDs. I'll drop a few hundred dollars for my CRT monitor, and you can drop a few thousand dollars for your equally impressive LCD monitor. I'll use my extra cash to buy a good gaming machine to utilize the CRT monitor, and you can have an average machine which will play games that look decent on your LCD monitor.

If you crank up games like HL2 to the max resolution, and compare and LCD right next to a CRT, you can see some differences. I know most people wouldn't do that, but whatever. I'm on a limitied budget, so, in my opinion, it would be much more cost efficient to go CRT. =/

Edit: Ignorance is bliss, especially when you don't have money to spend on unnecessary purchases.

Wow wow now cool down KG

We're all happy with our purchases.
I bought my 17" LCD for €270. Before I picked it, I asked a friend if it was fast enough for games and he said it was. I've never had any troubles with it. I like the extra space on my desk.

Actually, LCDs are getting less pricey now, so if you where to make an investment in one, now wouldn't be a bad time. I totally agree that LCDs are more convenient then CRTs, they take up less space, they require less power, and some of them are very nice. I'm going to be building a PC next year, and I'm probably going to stick with a CRT monitor, just because I'll probably get a laptop for college, and that is going to be my space saver. I went to a LAN with 18 computesr - all in my neighbors basement, and we had about 16 CRT monitors in there. Needless to say, we kept blowing the circuit breaker, and we had to wire the whole setup to all 3 floors of his house (he has a split-level). My neighbor had an LCD, and it was hella nice for the LAN situation.

If I had more money, I'd make the LCD investment. I'm probably going to stick it out and wait till my next PC after the one I build next year.

The bolded part seems to show that you think we all own LCD monitors

I said you can, not you do. You just put words into my mouth.

And I quoted you as support to my post, which was directed towards Dyne, not you, that LCDs are expensive.

I was just kidding in my last post. Just pretending to make things worse.

I use those visor-type things that project the screen right in front of your eyes, like looking through a pair of glasses.
