I played Halo. I beat Halo. I replayed some of the levels several times. No, I didn't go over and over it again, but I shouldn't have to do that to notice the "little changes" that apparently differentiate the sequel so much from the original. I believe I played Halo enough (and not all that long ago, either) to be able to notice anything that would make the gameplay experiences hardly the same. I just don't see it.

It doesn't really matter in itself. I've just seen some people (not necessarily people on this board) make a semi-big deal out of the dual wielding; they proclaimed how cool it was going to be and such. To me, I just didn't see how it was a big deal at all. It is an improvement, and it does add to the game, but it wasn't anything new. It just felt like to me some people were giving Halo more credit for the dual wielding than the game deserved.
And I'd like to play online, but I don't have XBox Live, nor do I really want it. I've never been into multiplayer too much, and going online with a console just seems like too much of a hassle for something I'd only use once in a while.

You're going to get flamed again.
I'm sorry.

Re: Xbox 2 will run the tables
Halo 2 does feel a lot like the original. You have dual-wielding and car-jacking but that's about it for changes. The environments are upgraded but all the weapons are basically the same and the soundtrack is as uninspired as ever. Halo 2 is more of an expansion pack than an actual sequal.

In that case I am glad that I have not played the original Halo. Everything in Halo 2 was new to me so I am pretty impressed with Halo 2.

Re: Xbox 2 will run the tables
I have to heartily agree with Link on this one. The game is very much like the first. I think the only place where those two critical new features are prominant are on Legendary and in multiplayer. Besides that, the single player game was too short and left too much to be answered. As a matter of fact, I'd have to say it's the worst video game ending since Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. But hey, maybe that's just me.
All around, I'm not dissing Halo 2 at all. It's a good game, and I'll play it for the multiplayer for a long time. But I utterly disagree with the conclusion that Halo 2 is a huge improvement over Halo. There honestly needs to be a v1.1 update that adds the features they removed from the beta builds of Halo 2 (i.e. leaning, going to prone, realistic shadow-casting) available to people on Xbox Live or even in an update disc.

Re: Xbox 2 will run the tables
Some like Halo, some dont like halo. Both sides really need to deal with that fact and get over it already.
as for updating, consoles arnt really there yet, im hoping for some larger hard drives next gen and maybe they can get workin on patching games and adding features people want.

Re: Xbox 2 will run the tables
You know Link, if you're not into multiplayer, you really shouldn't have bought Halo2 Seriously, if there was no live multiplay I would've just rented the game and beat the single player.

Then why did people buy Halo 1 if it had no Live multi-play?

Re: Xbox 2 will run the tables
4 player splitscreen should be fun too.... right? Or perhaps a LAN.
Perhaps I'll get it when it comes out on PC. Of course everyone will curse me for that, because THEN it's an old game. But I don't care.
Oh wait, I want HL2 first.

Um, because they liked the game? I didn't buy it.
