You just love to cause trouble huh?
Well, the answer to your question is yes. I am going to be doing a research paper next semester for graduation and I am looking forward to it. It is a topic I am interested in.
And I did cancer research in high school, that was pretty interesting. It had its down sides too though.

Re: school sucks
Question for the Group:
Are you motivated to do well in school? If yes, is it because you:
• simply like to learn
• want to be successful
• a bit of both
Feel free to explain your stance if you want.

Re: school sucks
I used to motivated to do well in school simply because i liked to learn.
Recently that has changed to a desire to be successful in college so that I can get a job.

Coulnd't have said it better myself. The better the grades I get here in university, the more prospects I have for my coop placement next year. And once I get a coop placement, and I keep up the good work, I'll be rolling in the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Re: school sucks
I'm not a great student
I dont work hard, per se, as in number of hours reading/studying/writing. But I learn unlike most people. I think both logically and creatively, read over the facts and then pages of information just sorta become second nature to me, without re-reading them or spending much time thinking about them. At the same time, I have a poor work ethic, and poor stick-to-it-ive-ness. I can dominate class discussion or (when I dont read a damn thing) have no idea what's going on. I also miss a lot of classes.
But I am smart. I was born with smarts. I have a very confident outlook on my abilities to learn and soak up knowledge in things that interest me. I learned the sport of football in one year better than a lot of middle aged people who watch it all their life. I pitched a marketing idea to the company my father has quite a bit of leverage with, and they liked it. I've designed a couple company logos but never took art class. Things like that.
Once I get a job in a field I like, I think I'm going to move up the corporate ladder a lot quicker than most do...ambition, and the inner perfectionist will drive me.

Re: school sucks
I work ethic the first 3/4 of this past semester were horrible... But I really picked up up late November.. which was great timing, because for my exams, the heavily test the most recent stuff they teach you, because it is like a combination of every thing they taught to you all year.

Re: school sucks
I work hard and do well in school for both my love of learning and what an education can bring me in the future. Right now, I'm just trying to do my best so I can get some scholarships in order to pay for University in a couple years.

Re: school sucks
My top reason would probably be homework. But I mean, who doesn't hate homework?

If you didn't hate homework then something's wrong with you. Unless of course, the homework is fun.

Re: school sucks
I don't really mind school...I just hate busy work and term papers. I can deal with the homework, and I don't mind learning during school. I like being in school because I get to see my friends, it gives me something to do, and I do enjoy learning..it just depends on the class I guess.
