Re: Reputation Awareness/Evaluation Month
I couldn't care less about the Reputation rating here. Anybody who has made enough posts to build up that meter already has a real reputation to begin with. I don't need to look at some number to figure out whether I know something about that person or not.
And the privileges? Mostly just peripherals. I suppose being able to see who left a user rating for you is nice, but the rest I simply don't care for.
Bottom line: caring about your reputation rating is a little bit like caring about your post count. Doing it demonstrates to everybody else what a sad sack you are.

I have never heard about The privileges. What you said was either too complex or too simple for me.
What else?Since when? Oh you can, can you?
Aren't all little bit like caring about your post count Bottom line caring about your reputation rating?
How does doing that make you feel?

Re: Reputation Awareness/Evaluation Month
I would like it if Rep was changed to "Gold Coins" in honor of our good friend, and italian plumber Mario.
It would also be cool if everytime you gave someone +rep you heard "Ching" like when Mario collects a coin. HOORAY!
I'm just being stupid now.

Re: Reputation Awareness/Evaluation Month
I hate the reputation system. It's worthless. I've elaborated on that several times and I don't feel I need to do it again. Aside from that, I agree with Xantar.
I would like to comment on the access to the Black Project forum. I've been with NDolphin/NDose/GT longer than most, as long as some, and not as long as a small few. And to have a flawed reputation system decide who has access to a forum is perhaps the single most ignorant thing done in all the time I've been with this website. And to me it's a Oxi Moron, because I hate 'Elite Only' forums. It only devides the members of the forums further from each other. But just because I hate it, doesn't mean I don't want access to it. I'll probably never post in there, and yet I'm frustrated by that fact that I couldn't.
Some of you could say "you're only 100 points from having access so quit your whining." But I don't feel I should have to. It's a matter of principle. And one that I feel has been overlooked.

Merry +Rep month to everyone...I've become a lot more generous with rep this month, as some of you might have seen. And keep expecting more.

Re: Reputation Awareness/Evaluation Month
Legitimate feedback on posts is great, but having a visible reputation is unnecessary.
It'd be nice if you could "give people rep," without having a solid figure created by the reputation. It'd be like having an invisible post count.
The figure itself isn't accurate to reputation. It's easy to rep-rally, and post count has a large affect on its value. However, I do admit that positive, personal feedback (and some reasonable constructive criticism) is cool.
Rep wars were hilarious, though. I had my fun.

doesnt really matter if they're visable or not. ANYONE can see who gave them a rep, by using a simple glitch or bug kinda in the way the forum works. its not the most time effective way, but you can see who gave you a rep clear as day.

By visible, I mean having green pips and a number to keep record of how large your reputation is. What should remain visible (and only to the person who receives rep) is the post that received reputation, the positive/negative connotationm, comments, and maybe who gave the reputation.
Having a system to keep track of how much you accumulated reputation is what I feel is unnecessary.
