Re: Your collection
It's a combination of: 1. Spending nearly all my money towards it, and 2. Knowing where to look for great prices. I have the privelege of knowing places like Willow Video and Mostly Music where I got at least a half of my collection at $10-$20 a pop.
Yeesh, I thought at least other people would post theirs.
My parents havn't bought me games since I was like 15... Or younger... I went through a phase where I basically had to sell or trade (not to stores, through trading sites, one game for another) old games in order to play new games, and still never got to play all the games I wanted to...
And now I have a job and have like 15 games sitting on my shelf that I havn't even started playing
Uhhh yeah I'd post my collection but I'm lazy right now, maybe later...
Ok, I don't want to disappoint Dyne by him being the only one posting his collection!
But anyway, my collection certainly isnt big and not impressive at all (compared to Dyne anyway). I've got a PS2, GCN, and an Xbox. I've only got a few games for each, and then a bunch of random psx rpgs.
And just to let you know, my digital camera sucks and the lighting in my room is really bad, so I couldnt take a pic of any of the systems, except the gamecube, and I had to use a lighter just to partially see it (bad camera like I said, it's worth only 80 bucks... Canadian). My Xbox and Halo 2 are currently loaned to my brother (but not for much longer, and I still have Fable with me..). But anyway:
To start things off (first two attached pictures), I posted my three gaming items that came in boxes... WoW (which I'm only level 8, havent played in weeks but I plan on getting back into it soon), FFXI (crap), and my Xbox Live box! yay.
Next two pictures are my very precious Suikoden games, I've got all three... and the fourth is due for release next week, I can't wait!
The two pics after that are my only 3 GameCube games, Wind Waker, it's bonus disc, and Metroid Prime. I plan to get MP2 soon, I could've got it for xmas but I chose to get some CDs instead.
Then it's Fable and GTA: SA (with my hand in the pic). I got about 3/4 into Fable and never really got into GTA, I'm probbaly going to trade GTA in tomorrow when I pay for my Suikoden IV pre order.
The rest are assorted pictures of some of my PSX rpgs, and that concludes my awesome game collection. If they dont fit in this post I'll just continue them in the next.
Anyways, great collections guys. I'm going to take a few pictures of mine later, and post them. Maybe this weekend...because it's going to be a lot of work to get all my old games and stuff out. I'm like Dyne...I never sell or throw away anything.

And thanks to josh i have a BUNCH of snes/nes games on my old compie which will soon be in this house (i recently moved).
I agree that having so many games without working for them (well, there are also reasonable exceptions like birthdays [depending on quantity]) appears shameful. However, I've got to admit that I feel games are much more satisfying as gifts... when you don't have to enjoy a game simply because you spent hard-earned money on it.
I'm in a large family, so holidays are cheap and I've never had allowance. I still have a decent collection due to my brother's purchases, my own, and some combined birthdays. Even so, work seemed to kill my interest in gaming.
I'm happy for you, Dyne, if you can enjoy all of your games. But, if you're wanting the size to impress me, sorry... I'm impressed by merchandise bought by sweat. I am impressed, however, if you use your free time (without having a job, that is) to make use of all the good games.
Game on, mah brotha.

Re: Your collection
Oh, you bet I enjoy all these games. None of them goes to waste. I see massive collections at IGN and Gaming-Age, and some people still have their games in plastic. I shed a tear whenever someone brings a game home and doesn't even open it. My rough guess is that a quarter of my games have been completed 100%, half have been played through a lot, and the remaining quarter are too frustrating to sit down and play. The last quarter is mostly comprised of games on the NES and Genesis games.
I have so many games to beat, I pushed my Playstation RPG backlog off the list. I haven't bought an RPG in a while, either. I officially quit them.
I'm going on a game fast now to beat all these games. I will only buy Zelda: Minish Cap for the next three months.
Ulala, I am envious of your collection. I wish I had more Sega CD games. And I've never played Space Channel 5. I hear it's awesome.
