Well, as one person rises in rep, that person's +reps and -reps carry more weight. Because my reputation has reached a new height, the couple of +reps I gave GM after a bet had a significant effect on his total.

Then, there's a bit of a chain reaction. As people with high rep give other members +rep, their totals will rise.

Also, perhaps there's a connection between dubloons and reputation.

I already had a ton of rep...and then GM and Stray just repped me a couple times and I went through the roof. O_O

And now I have the repping power of a god.
