Re: Revolution Controller Concept
This controller goes to a console that hooks up to a tv? What's up with the screen on the controller?
The touch screen provides for many unique games, I'd imagine. The custom covers would definately be a plus, considering looking at your controller while playing a game is a bad thing. The action is on the screen.
But... why's there a non-touch screen on the controller as well? Or, am I mistaken?

Have you ever played 4 Swords? When you go inside a cave, it shows up on your screen. I can only assume it would be used for similar purposes.

Re: Revolution Controller Concept
I like the controller overall, I think the screen on the controller will take a little getting used to. Hopefull they get the buttons right on the touch pad, I wouldn't want buttons that barely have any feel to them.

Re: Revolution Controller Concept
Well I highly doubt this is the revolution controller. Simply because it's not a revolution. The touch screen and the touch pad is innovative, however having the same layout as the gamecube controller makes it bland.
I think the versatility that comes with a touch pad would be awesome. Imagine not having to configure buttons anymore?
For examle, you had a touch screen, touch pad, and whatever game you bought, came with button layout card which is inserted.
You insert a Mario card, and a regular button layout appears on the touch pad.
You insert a Street Fighter card, and a 6 button layout appears on the touch pad.
You insert an SNK card, and a 4 button layout appears on the touch pad.
The ability to change the button layout (not the config) on the fly with the touch screen/pad would be an interesting concept.

Yeah, that's what I was saying was amazing. Not the touchness, but ability for it to be customizable.
And, if developers wanted to be realy creative, they could package custom layout nibs with the games. That way if you are playing a RPG, you could have a lot of buttons for those neccessary hotkeys.
And this would practically eliminate the need to buy controller converters for fighting games, seeing as how right now the PS2 controller is the only good one for it.
