Why is PSP so expensive

Is there a place for my name in this mischievious innuendo?

On the subject of PSP being expensive, I think $200 is a fair price for the individual unit with no values. I'd like to see it dropped to $150 in a year or two once the novelty of it has worn off or as a tactic to compete with GBA-2 Extreme.
