So it appears the real REVOLUTION of next gen is indeed SONY's controller.

As someone in another forum said, When you get mad in a game and throw it, it will come back to you.

all joking aside, its ALMOST starting to grow on me now, kinda like the Gamecube controller did.

Yeah, I thought it was garbage when I first saw it. But I stopped looking at it at face value and started to imagine myself holding it.

It seems it would be very comfortable with long prongs..... Everything is a nice size they just elongated the prongs...

Does anyone see similarities...?

The long prongs have proven to work well with holding the controller with stability.... Whose complaining now...

well if it does one thing it'll stop people from saying they cant get to the left joystick with thier thumb. longer handle means you could grip it a bit lower which would effectivly move the left joy stick higher up.

As with any controller tho, looks aside, you never know untill you actually hold one.

Listen... the long prongs on the N64 proved to be beneficial for holding the controller with comfort and stability.

Now with the longer prongs it just enables that same aspect. The buttons, analog, shoulders, and D-pad are all in SIMILAR positions to the old PS2 controller.... just longer prongs to provide more grip then slip..

Remember also, their may be a REASON aside from Grip for the long prongs... perhaps a pressure sensitive grip for racing games... Squeeze on the right prong for an action and squeeze on left for another action... Maybe something for Fight Night PS3?

My long biased rants will come next week, when I get the net hooked up in my room.

But let me just say, every time I've complained about Sony's controller design, I take it back. Aside from the fact that it's incredibly dated, at least it was confortable. This is well... humorous at best. Sony should've just added USB support for PC controllers and not included one

The console is umm... nice... but... ugly. Glad to see someone using Bluetooth (1.1 or 2?), and it's nice to see 1080p and HDMI output. Bravo. If only they could make a game that I cared about, and could sell this thing for a reasonable price. Sure it's going to sell for under $500. $499.99+tax!

Still haven't seen a picture of a game, just heard some announced titles that put me to sleep. They'll sell, but they're just not for me. But please tell me that they gave real-time in-game shots, and not the stupid BS renders that they wowed us with to prove how superior it was to DC.

3 consoles shown, none have "wowed" me.

Have you seen the war video thingo on PS3?

That wowed me. Is that really in game graphics??? Even though it looks like it is from a gameplayers perspective, who's to say somebody didn't computer generate some or all of it? I'm confused

Also where are the gamelists? I haven't seen ANY games yet that have stood out and grabbed me by the nutz.

I hope you've seen the game play footage being run on unfinished PS3 hardware.... those graphics will wow you.... even if the game isn't your type.

Bluetooth 2.0 EDR (Sony and Ericsson invented Bluetooth... what do you expect?)

Now about the price... let's check out some marketing patterns

Newspapers speculate an up to $700 price tag for the Playstation 2.
Sony launches PS2 in Japan for $379.00
Sony launches PS2 in US for $299.00
Newspapers speculate a $465 price tag for the Playstation 3.
Sony will probably launch in it Japan for $399
And end up launching in the U.S. at $350.00

Sony will keep their price at a competitive price point to keep people interested instead of making them go to Xbox 360.

Everyone knows PS3 looks way more powerful, so $350 would be a justified price point, for the extra horsepower in it....

But if it matches the X1.5 at $299.... EVEN BETTER... I'm not stopping them from doing it....

Going back to the controller. It could look far worse. Like this toilet seat trying to be a controller:
