Snagged an early copy of Mario Kart DS - Page 5

I am never playing this ****ing game again! I lose every ****ing time and five seconds after the race starts I never see your racer on the map again! I am so ****ing mad! ARGH!

After that, I played a worldwide match with 3 other people and I lost again!

I am this close to throwing my DS against the wall as hard as I can!

Oh... uhh... good game...

Mario Kart games get me angrier than any other game I've ever played. I think it's that those who do you wrong are happy little people/animals riding happy little karts...and then they screw you...happily.

Have you tried another character besides Bowser? He's good for straight tracks (like that one where you almost won and then I got that star

) but otherwise... Was so set to use Dry Bones but then saw he had the lowest max speed in the game and wasn't so great for anything other than the SNES tracks...maybe once I unlock his other karts I'll like...probably not...

And yeah, until you can master drifting/sparking a lot, you should stay away from heavy characters. However, I have mastered donkey kong. You know in Waluigi's Pinball, the enclosed area before the line? I sparkboost at least 5 times. I jumped 3 positions once due to that one area.

It seems to me all karts go the same top speed. To make it fair. It's always been that way. If you're more experienced, you'll pick the heavier karts - the ones who go much faster when boosting. Otherwise, when you hit offroad/hit by an item, you're incredibly slow to start and can't make up the loss.

I take it back. I love Dry Bones. He let me beat the Nitro 150 with A's.

Yeah, I'm using Dry Bones to beat the higher stuff too. I can't wait to unlock more karts.

Also, how the hell do you do the pre-race boost? Does ANYONE know?

It's weird. You press and hold the gas right as 2 disappears. Able to do it almost everytime now.

Unlocked all the karts. Just gotta get R.O.B. now.

I HATE THESE RED SHELLS!

I carry a shell, banana, fake box behind me and then red shell zips around to my side and hits me. So I try planting whatever I'm carrying right before it hits me and again it circles around and hits me. Plus when I have the 3 circling shells I still get hit sometimes by a red shell without one of the 3 doing anything. It wasn't like this in any of the other games... *sigh*

I'm scarred from ever playing online again. It's just...it makes no sense.

Have you tried veering close to a wall?

I remember in previous games you could hop and if you got the timing corect sometimes it would miss.

If you're playing dry bones the amount of down time shouldn't be that long.

Also, I unlocked the 7 karts. I'm going to do ROB before I go to bed.

God I can't wait to get online.

I tried using Dry Bones online. There goes my streak. Got my ass kicked by a gang of yoshis...with their evil evil red shells.
