Re: James Blunt
Not only did I grab Back To Bedlam but I grabbed his live Bedlam Sessions thingy on the Internet.
It's basically the audiorip of this DVD.
James Blunt = The Dave Matthews of the UK.
It's a good album. It'll be on the top 100 charts for a while, so I'll probably hate it next week from overplay. But meh.

Re: James Blunt
That's harsh.
He's a lot less jammy, I'm just comparing his texture.

Re: James Blunt
I don't really like James Blunt because he's so overplayed in Australia.
http://forums.vogue.com.au/showthread.php?t=174307
Plus, he has an incredibly whiney voice... which is alright for the first time but when it's being played on loop can get a bit brain damaging :S However, I have to say I love the lyrics to 'Goodbye My Lover' as I'm a sucker for sad break up songs... So I guess it's his voice that gets to me the most.

Re: James Blunt
I think he and the lead singer from Coldplay should go eat the action end of a shotgun.
Just my opinion...

Chris Martin is a good singer though.
Same with James Blunt.
And some of the music is good.
The dont need to Cobain themselves.

Really? What happened to listening to music based on the talent of the artists?

Oh burrrrn.
Would you like to sift through the 24,000 songs on my computer, or the 900 unripped CDs sitting in my room? That's been one of my mantra for about 15 years, thank you. Talent isn't the only determing factor, I think sound should be first. Kurt Cobain was a bum. He ripped off countless musicians, including The Mevlins (same high school, i'm sure you don't listen to them), he wasn't particularly great at guitar, but he still sounded good.
And if that comment was directed at me, that's really unfair. You should have pointed that at the people shooting down the James Blunt album because I made a comparison to Dave Matthews. I hold my comment valid, because if all you listen to is mainstream music, then you are missing out on a lot of cool stuff you won't ever hear on MTV or the radio. And 99% of the "talent" lies outside the mainstream box. Drumming, guitar playing, bass playing, the virtuoso crap lies outside the box.

Re: James Blunt
I'll admit that I was shooting down James Blunt initially based upon your comparison to Dave Matthews. That was unfair, I should have given him a chance.
I was in the car listening to XM radio yesterday and that James Blunt song came on, so I turned to it. Now I've actually listened to it and now I know that it sucks...Fair enough?
