Re: How to Kill a Brand
This has become a serious forum problem.
Wii-maniacs don't know how to stop running their mouths. You like the Wii. You don't like the PS3. We get that.
Be quiet now maybe?

Being quiet about hating the PS3 and Sony for being a highly successful company would be turning your back on everything Nintendo fans stand for: Being as annoying as they can possibly be every change they have to say Sony sucks.

Re: How to Kill a Brand
What you say about Nintendo fans on this forum can be said about a lot of fans of other platforms, mostly on other forums.
Remember that GameTavern originates from a pure Nintendo site, long before some of you guys joined. It's not an excuse for fanboyism, but it's an explanation.

So then I'll become German, and kill a jew.
It's not an excuse for murder, but it's an explanation.
I'll be Christian and invade Jerusalem.
hell...I'll be American and bomb some brown people.
As you said "long before".
So that means for a (as you said) 'long' time, the site is not a Nintendo site.

Re: How to Kill a Brand
Nintendo fans were ridiculed and and forced to question their entire belief system for 10 long years. And as seen in this thread, it continues. Many people care strongly for things that might appear atypical in nature to what others hold up high. But to call them out shows your own avowal on the subject at hand.
Let them have their Wii-shaped cake and eat it to... or used in a series of disturbing sexual photographs that your friend took and you didn't want to see but he forced them on you anyway and now you can't look at the fellow the same way and avoid eye contact whenever you pass by which basically severed the only friend he had resulting in his failed attempt at suicide but paved the way for an erotic bakery endeavor...
I don't own nor have played any of the three systems, but I did not care for Sony's arrogance in promoting the PS3 these past few years (though Ken's quotes are still amusing to read).
Er, I just thought the song was pretty entertaining.

*shrug* I assume so...that's the only reason why people would react this way.
I'm just wondering why nobody has yet responded to my question...

I guess because I didn't see the point. You're so quick to point the fanboy finger with only the slightest provocation that generally, it's really not worth wasting the minute it takes to respond.
As for comparing the relative failure of the GameCube to the issues Sony's having with the PS3, I think it's a flawed analysis. One could argue that the Gamecube was their favorite system because they really liked the first party games on it. Whereas, I don't see that anybody could plausibly make a similar debate out of the PS3's software at this point. Most of the really great titles were either cross platform to begin with or are being switched to cross platform development at a steady pace.
Sony hasn't failed yet, they've sold enough systems to keep their head afloat until better software hits. The real question is whether or not they will find that killer app that makes the PS3 irresistible to to the general public. I'm not going to pass judgment, Sony has surprised before and I've no doubt they will again; it's just a matter of the degree Sony surprises and entices the public.

The PS3 was launched A FEW MONTHS AGO. How many MUST HAVE 1st party titles did the Gamecube have after a few months? Talk about being quick to point the finger...
Look, I don't need to point the fanboy finger. It's obvious at this point, and that's fine (well not really, it ruined GameTavern but that's another issue). I find it humorous and sad that this forum is no longer willing to discuss both sides of the story.
