I agree with 1. However I still play King of Fighters 02 and it's failry popular.

I would say Try KOF98/02 and also Street Fighter IV is coming. Virtua Fighter 5 is a good fighting game too, Tekken....I don't like so much but many people do.

A decline shows that they are not so popular as they used to be. With that said I'm still an avid KOF freak here. They are great games to play, lots of tactics, lots to learn, and playing against high level people is really so competitive.
