Re: Gamespot reviewer fired over bad review?
The 10 point scale is a result of publisher and industry influence. Ever wonder why we consider a review of 7 out of 10 bad? Because the industry could not tolerate ratings of 2-3 out of 10. So the real scale is a 6 or 7 to 10 scale, which is really just an adjusted 1 to 4 stars. Its an attempt to alter perception.
In the end, the game reviewing journalists are beholden to the industry not only to provide the product for review ahead of release, but also to ASVERTISE and pay for the sites to actually exist and their employees to get paid.
Its best not to bite the hand that feeds.

..Dude, that happened like over a week ago. There's been a million repercussions since.
Someone has to start reading Kotaku.

Ah yes, we operate on the internet, where a week is a lifetime.
Can you link what you mention on Kotaku?

Haha, I like that review. He completly made the game sound like crap with no hope. I'm shocked it even got a 6. Also, "Ugly" is a strong word, and he made tha the centerpiece of his review. I bet the developers of that game love that dude :P
