I have so much fun playing as a sniper... I think I'm pretty good, especially when there aren't enemy snipers to headshot me.

I didn't know which thread to bump, but this is just getting sad for 360 owners.

"Team Fortress 2 Scout Update Coming Next Tuesday, First Unlock Revealed

Valve today announced that the anticipated Scout-centric update to Team Fortress 2 will be released next Tuesday, February 24.

In anticipation of the update, Valve has launched a website to tease the Scout's upgrades.
The first weapon revealed is "The Sandman," a "highly collectible bat that smacks baseballs at the other team, stunning the living crap outta anybody dumb, slow, drunk, mute or Australian enough to get in the way."

The bat allows players to fire a baseball at enemies. The further the ball flies, the longer it stuns an enemy."

no more sad than it already has been. the game is a pc game, the only reason it was ported to 360 was to earn some extra money from those that dont play on pc.

and they're going to update every class before 360 even has a chance at the updates. because for 360, you'd have to pay for the update (not valves choice)
which honestly is a stupid idea to give 360 players the update at all at that point. because if some buy it, some done, you're splitting up the already small userbase on 360, and it will be harder to find matches.

as for the updates itself. i wish they'd hurry up and get the lame classes out of the way. (i expect spy next) and get to the good ones... sniper / demo / soldier

I couldn't disagree with you more. While the usergroup on the 360 is comparatively small, when considering how long ago it came out it has a far larger user base than many other on-line games of similar age. But lets keep the word "small" in perspective. The Orage Box has sold close to 2 million console copies if not more. The platform is not something to be ignored because it's a "PC Game", whatever that means anymore.

Also, its 360 user base is very LOYAL. People play is DAILY. If you were to release the updates to the 360 and charged for them, I doubt it would split the user base at all, and most are rabid hardcore fans who are salivating for these updates and are willing to pay $10 for them.

In the end, the problem here is a lack of imagination. All Valve and Microsoft would have to do is develop a subscription system that would allow gamers to sign up for Orange Box/TF2 updates and then download them as they became available for a one time $10 fee, or have each update cost $2 a piece or so and download them ala carte.

In the eyes of many TF2 fans, both Valve and Microsoft come out looking bad, and a reasonable solution should have been derived a long time ago.

Ah that's my favorite part of sniping. Nothing beats dropping a headshot on your equal from across dustbowl coming out of the opening gate.

I think I'm approaching some kind of Sniper Karmic Balance myself, where all of my failures combined across the other classes are culminating in the most ridiculously lucky, unexpected, and undeserved headshots I could ever hope for.
