They were awesome. I don't really like following this very tight and illogical path through an environment. Sure, it sometimes provides some nice gameplay elements, but after playing HL1 it's nothing new or really fun.
So there's this fence that's electrically charged. You can see the wire running into a near window. I pick up a saw blade and shoot through the wire. Doesn't work.
So I have to go back, go through many rooms with all the doors locked except 2, so I can find and flip the switch.
HL2 kind of had the same problem as HL1: the last levels. They were so different that it wasn't any fun. Oh and HL2 stole all my weapons incl. ammo, which I was saving for some kind of epic boss fight.
