That's the first one I thought of as well. Even though Ford didn't pretend to be a doctor, he really was one.

It's an old children fantasy movie. At one point there's this guy (knight? prince?) on a white horse that goes through a misty area with a path alongside a wall like these:



It was obviously filmed in a studio. The wall and path went in a half circle and it was spooky.
I think I remember a girl, but I'm not sure. I was probably 10 when it was on TV, so I think it has to be older than 15 years.
