I think the issue was adding characters that were better than Sonic. They did the same things and more, which detracted from Sonic being awesome.

At any rate, Mega Man 9 is a new game. But if I had to bet money I'd say they just slapped together some used and unused art from the 8-bit era for a quick buck. The real question, how will the music sound? If it has an original (and good) Mega Man sound track then I'll buy it.

I was curious about that as well... You can't have a new Mega Man game without a hyperactive NES soundtrack. Unfortunately, the article said that the game used recycled songs from past NES MM games...
Perhaps they're just placeholders?

Well, you could potentially make a case for Knuckles and maybe even Shadow.

But beyond that Tails, Silver, Amy, Cookie n Cream, Big the Cat? REALLY!
