Re: 2010 Games Thread: Still 2 years until the end of the world! Let's play Games!
Alright Kids and Other not so enjoyable people. Onto the Handheld games of Q1. Of course videos wont look so great, but whatever, I'll post em up anyway.
We'll start with my friend the DS. I spend a lot of time with him. We do things that man and machine shouldn't do together, but hey if gay marriage is legal why can't I marry my DS?
Nintendo DS always has a strong showing and reigns supreme in the handheld world always. Everyone loves a DS, and I'm cool with that.
Nintendo DS:
Sands of Destruction - Jan. 12th:
Sega makes RPGs other than PSO? I would have never known...
Windy X Windam - Jan. 12th:
Based off some Japanese anime it's a 2d fighter that uses both screens. Looks fun.
Glory of Heracles - Jan. 18th:
Looks like an old school RPG with anime cuts. Could be fun.
Dawn of Heroes - Feb. 2:
All I can say is OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! I had no idea this game existed and I hope it's good. It looks like a fun time. I love SRPG games.
Ragnarok Online DS - Feb. 16th:
Raise your hand if you've played RO! *Hand Raise* looks like it's similar to the PC version, and it has online capabilities (Only up to 4 players but hey). Not exactly the PC game, but still cool.
Dementium 2 - Feb. 16th:
Didn't really play the first, but always thought it looked cool. Need more stuff like this on the DS for sure.
Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver - March 14th:
After all these years and requests, finally an easy way to obtain the G&S pokemon so you can finally "Catch em all"
Infinite Space - March:
Building ships in space and balancing resources. Sounds like it could be fun.
Well that does it for the DS. Not too much going on, a lot of kraptacular games are coming out, but hey, it is the DS.
Now onto the PSP!
PSP all trying to budge into the handheld scene, but did PSP Go kill the PSP? Perhaps so. We'll see in the coming year. When is microsoft gonna get in on this race?
Well kids looks like PSP is a bust.
Basically they're releasing games that are already out with watered down graphics, or handheld versions of PS3/360 games with watered down graphics.
2 games that might possibly be worth playing though.
Valkyria Chronicles 2:
Set 2 years after the conclusion of Valkyria Chronicles. If it's as good as the PS3 version... Well Play it.
Shadow of Memories:
This is a PSP remake of Shadow of Destiny. Shadow of Destiny was a very unique PS2 game I played way back in the day, and I still have fond memories of it. If you haven't played it, this is a way you can as the PS2 game is really hard to find.
That's it for PSP. Don't buy one, spend an extra 20 bucks to get the better 360/PS3 version of these games.

Re: 2010 Games Thread: Still 2 years until the end of the world! Let's play Games!
Alright now onto the last part of this thread that has taken me all night to do.
The PC. What a truly wonderful thing the PC is. There are so many games that come out for this thing. This part of the thread is for the PC gamer. Yes YOU! You closet PC gamers you.
Expect massive amounts of Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. Probably one of the few times you've seen that typed out in the last few years eh?
Let's get this started right then.
Star Trek Online - Feb. 2nd:
Finally for all you trekkies. You can speak klingon with your best friends all day. Expect lots of old nerds, and new nerds too thanks to the badassery that was this summer's Star Trek the Motion Picture.
Everquest 2: Sentinels Fate - Feb. 16th:
An expansion for EQ 2. Boring...
APB (All Points Bulletin) - March:
Basically it's like someone made GTA into an MMO. You either play as "The Squads" (Cops) or a gang member. Cool... If you're into that sort of thing. I see it as another reason for the media to be like "WTF this makes gang violence look cool."
Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty - Q1 or 2:
This is like... "Hi we're blizzard, we made a game, we decided to divide it into 3 fully priced games to make more money. We're blizzard so you'll buy them all because we make games so good that you'll do that." Everyone will buy the first game for sure though, even if they're only in it for the multiplayer, because all classes are available in the Multiplayer. Still think Blizzard are total dicks for doing that, but whatever. It's finally coming out next year.
Well that's it for PC. I don't know much about PC games so any PC gamers feel free to share, as I now have a computer that can run PC games well.
And finally I'll leave you with some words about Diablo III:
With 4 character classes(Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Sorceress, Monk) out of the 5 announced revealed, and a substantial amount of the game already shown, it's safe to say blizzard has made some headway into the game. I believe I read somewhere that the developers said it was 70% complete when it was announced. Also Blizzard announced D3 wouldn't be coming out until after Starcraft was fully released.
So what does that mean for everyone who is pumped about D3? Well Starcraft should be fully released by the end of the summer. So here's hoping for a Holiday of 2010 release. Diablo III is a hot item and they would make killer money next holiday season. Mmm... Diablo III.
