I was just thinking about Mass Effect 1, and whether or not certain problems with it would be fixed in ME2. Like that texture pop in, for instance, was incredibly distracting, and I had always hoped they'd somehow patch in a fix for it. But I'm wondering if playing the game installed to the 360 HDD would help fix this problem or at least tone it down. Has anyone played through the game installed to their 360?
So disappointing. The only improvements they made were making some guns and ammo soldier only. They didn't improve the soldier, they made every other class a little less. Poor show.
I'm hearing a lot of unsavory things about this game with the recent reviews coming out. Such as no more items or equipment found from drops or caches, experience gains only happen at the end of each mission, a number of skills such as computer hacking and medicine completely removed, and also not being able to equip items on your comrades.
It's sounding less and less like an RPG and more along the lines of a cinematic third-person shooter... which is really not what I was looking forward to, maybe others will be happy to hear that. I can't imagine why RPG elements would be removed when it seems every other game goes out of its way now to incorporate some kind of RPG-like equipment/experience system. I really hope there's some depth with improved side-quests and stuff.

The drops I can do without. They were just annoying to manage, but I loved the treasure hunting for cache's and the best stuff came from them. My worry is that they boil down the RPG elements to Fable 2 levels. Thats game was a great, but somewhat shallow for me.

I also don't care much for the drops, and I really approve of XP only coming at a mission's end. This means you don't always have to kill people in order to level up - you can make the decision not to kill them and get the same amount of xp.
I don't like not being able to equip my allies, though. :\

Is this 100% fact, or just a rumor? I don;t see the benefit of having that ability removed. Does this mean that the NPC's equip themselves autmatically as you get new stuff, or does that mean they always have the same armor, guns and equipment and everything just advances with their level? If it's the latter, that would be a disappointment.
It was mentioned in a review that you can no longer equip weapons/armor on your allies, but I think it said that near the end of the game each character has a side mission you can do which will earn them a new outfit or something. Kind of disappointing to hear.
