Was actually at Sony Pictures Studios the other day and they were mentioning how this summer's Blockbuster list is super weak for their production companies (Columbia, Tristar, Sony Pictures, Screen Gems, Stage 6, etc.) and Salt is their primary flick of the season, hence the major marketing campaign. They were under the assumption that the huge star power of Jolie would spur sales for a relatively familiar plot, but I seriously...SERIOUSLY doubt this will make a dent in the box office. Just as you guys said, I have no desire whatsoever to see it.
