In my experience that's not the hard part. The boss battles can be so tough...

Before you reach the final boss, you have to play an incredibly hard part for around 15 minutes. I usually lost 1 or 2 lives there... leaving me only 2 or 1 for the boss. I hardly damaged him before I died and had to do the whole part again!

Zelda II's Death Mountain is also confusing as hell.
