I thought the first one was pretty Hollywood as well.

But I loved it - one of my favorite movies. I'm pumped about this one...does anyone know who the character is Cumberbatch is playing?

Imdb has him rumored as Khan. I've heard Gary Mitchell for quite some time though.

Japanese trailer has a tad more footage at the end.

I can't imagine him being Khan. He just doesn't suite the character at all... Khan is supposed to be a huge, ripped Spanish soldier guy.

I think you're right about Gary Mitchell...that girl from the trailer looks just like the lady from the episode he was in:
