I think Skyfall is uniquely good because it's an awesome/fun action movie, but also has some of the best cinematography and use of lighting and color of any movie I've seen. Pretty rare combination, and makes for a good viewing experience.

Ted
Enjoyed it for the most part.

Wreck-It Ralph
Pure joy. Of the three nominated animated features I've seen, this was definitely the best.

Life of Pi
It's been a long while since I read the book but felt pretty spot on. Great film.

I can't believe Wreck-It Ralph lost out to Brave.. I can't believe Paranorman lost out to Brave

I liked Brave, but it wasn't Pixar's best foot forward nor was it the best animated film of last year

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
It wasn't so much a movie but a series of events that kept on going. At the 30 minute mark I was loving it and wanted it to go on forever. Toward the middle I kept looking at the clock and couldn't believe I had a whole other half to go. Had to take a break from it. By the end I wanted to it to continue on and on. It's been a long while since I read the book, so a bit hazy on the details, but man does it feel like they added a ton of stuff. There was like one line devoted to Azog and now he's this big bad (a cool looking one at least) and the Gollum/Bilbo interaction was different. I wonder what it would have been like had the LoTR movies not already occurred. Still, that was some great acting from Andy Serkis and the animation team. Overall it was just cool to revisit this world.

Dabangg
Quite fun. Couldn't get over how one of the characters looked like an Indian Joaquin Phoenix though.

The Good, the Bad, the Weird
Pretty good. Not bad. Could have been weirder. Be careful which version you watch. The one on Netflix cuts off the ending.

The Hangover Part II
Yeah... Suffers from Die Hard 2 syndrome where the characters remark how similar things are to the last time it happened.

Superman: Unbound
Lois Lane is awesome in this movie. That's about all the good I can say about it.

A History of Violence
Some questionable acting at parts, but enjoyed it overall.

The Intouchables
The definition of a feel good movie.

Iron Man 3
Would be nice to be able to watch a superhero movie without someone ruining the twist/ending for me. Happened right before I was about to watch too. So close. Was an alright movie. Think I had my hopes up too high because of Shane Black...but it was a Shane Black movie...right down to it being Christmas...it's always Christmas.

Dogtooth
Still trying to process this one. Sort of like The Village in that a man and a woman raise three children completely secluded from the outside world. About where the similarity ends. Heard it described as Plato's Allegory of the Cave + child abuse. Pretty accurate.

I saw Iron Man 3 last weekend. It was good - quite a bit better than the second one, but that's not really saying much.

My one complaint is that Tony Stark sucked as Iron Man in this movie. Not his acting, just his capabilities as a super hero. He spent more time getting knocked out of his suit than fighting in it.
