Default Re: Bioshock Infinite

I finished it this past Saturday. Fantastic game...I've already started a second playthrough, and I'm still thinking about the story daily. Took me around 11 hours to finish, but it was a high quality 11 hours.

As for the violence and gore, I've heard mixed opinions on this. Some people think it feels out of place and doesn't serve the game. I've even heard complaints from people saying it deters away an audience who would otherwise be interested in playing for the story.

But it also servers as a really dark, stark contrast with the idealic nature of Columbia. I don't think the game would work as well without it.

The first "violent" moment in the game comes out of nowhere. You're going through Columbia taking in the sights, listening to people, browsing around the fair. Suddenly you're thrust into this situation where they want you to throw a baseball at an interracial couple. Next thing you know a guy attacks you and hit him with the baseball and push his buddies face into his spinning blades. Blood everywhere. Until that point, Columbia was spotless, clean, and bright. It was pretty memorable.
