3. Is there a monthly access rate?

4. What is the game about?
1. $49.99 for the game. Minimum cost right there. BBA or Modem goes for $34.99, American. Around $39.99 if you import. There aren't many US ones around, Nintendo hasn't had a new shipment... yet. From there you're free to go online.

2. Need, no. Very few people have them. Should you get one? Yes. But considering the price, it's easier said than done. And waiting to see if you like the game is always a good idea, since the keyboard is basically the price of the game + BBA. Right now, they're only out in Japan. $90 is about the cheapest you'll see, and they're still hard to find. Rumors are MadCatz is making one, but there's no official word. And who knows is ASCII will bring the Japanese one over here.

PSO.....$50
BBA.....$35
KB......$90
tax/ship$25
Total...$200

Playing the game the way it was meant to be played... priceless.

3. You will need to buy a Hunter's License to get online. They cost $8.95 a month, but you get your first month free. So you'll know what you're getting into before you ever pay for it. And if you get into PSO, $8.95 is nothing. Think of it this way, 6 months and you're down 1 game. But any game that you play for 6 months, is worth the price of 2.

4. The game is an online RPG, in many ways similar to Diablo. You enter into a level, fight enemies, and build experience. They drop items, you find other items in boxes, etc. Basically, that's all you ever do. It's a lot more fun than that, but braking it down, the game is more or less leveling your character and searching for rares. Hard to explain, if anyone else can do better, give it a shot. You really need to play it to understand it, but even then it's not so simple. You'll be confused on what mags are, what the different items do, and so on. Make good use of this board It's a lot to take in at once, but still, I can't describe what the actual game is like very well. On paper, PSO doesn't seem like a game that would be that great. But hundreds of thousands of people disagree
