you really hit the naiol on the head there stonecutter.

its such a shame that now in this day and age, little kids want mature games so they can brag to there snot nosed frinds about slicing up nazis or shooting zombies or even civilians!

it's such a shame little kids can never truly apreciate the quality they are getting in Nintendo games (kiddy or not they are greatly designed) .

so yeah that may not have been what you were saying but im just adding it

Well, no that's not what I was saying but you make a point anyway.

My point was that the playstation name is so large now that people recognize it as the name for videogames. I'm not saying kids want playstaion so they can play Devil May Cry. Kids just want playstation so that they can have a playstation. Even if it's Jax (Jac? Jak?...whatever) and Daxter that they're playing the fact is. It's playstation.

You also forgot to mention that Nintendo has the hardcore "Nintendo'ers" to impress. Which still seems to work. Now they need to get more "recruits"

so in a way its become the "Coke" of the video game world?
in the sense that parents/kids will say "can i see your Sony games?" when they may mean "i wanna see your gamecube games". Well in a way anyway. It's just become the recognised console that everyone knows of. Well that might not apply the America but its certainly what happens here in Australia.

No doubt, I fully agree with you on that. I don't know about other countries, but here in the U.S, the name "Playstation" gets everyone's attention.
