Well yeah...mine can run current ones like Battlefield 1942...but Half Life 2, Doom III and S.T.A.L.K.E.R would have my computer contemplating suicide

if you can run BF, you can run thoes others also.

you just may not be able to run them at full power. but they would play fine

I don't know about that one null. My friend has a P3 866mhz with a geforce 2 400mx. It runs battlefield...but it's not going to run HL2 or Doom3.

I have a P4 2.4 and a geforce 4 ti 4600. I'm going to be able to play halflife2 and doom3 but not very well. 20 fps hopefully.

you have a very odd idea of what it takes to play games bro.

you have that and you think you will only play 20fps?

what do you have 1mb of ram??

i have a p4 2.66 and a gf4 ti 4200 and i'll get well over 60 fps.

and the p3 you mentioned will run the games. not the greatest but i also say its not running BF at top notch cuz BF is a bit of a demanding game with the size of the maps.

While the new engine has all sorts of fancy features, it's still designed to scale and work on lower-end machines. Apparently a 700mhz processor and a video card capable of running DX6 is enough, although a 2ghz with a GeForce4 is recommended.

Your right there my P4 1.8GHz with a GF2 did not get a very good FPS from the old E3 DOOM III demo that got out on the net! Now I know the CPU can cut it but any one with a GF2 or lower had better get saving cuss the GF2 just can't cut it!

As far as graphics card..... Carmack of ID software said the absolute minimum will be a GF1 ... with a recommended GF3

Yea and I recall ID software saying a 386DX would run DOOM!!!!! Any one who has the min spac PC better stay the hell away from DOOM3 as the game will run but will almost not play on there PC.
