While the hero from DWIII's actual name isn't given, he's titled as Loto at the end of the game. He's also the legendary warrior in DW and DWII. On the NES the given title was Erdrick, not Loto, although Loto is the corrected translation

Ah, that would explain why I said he was nameless. I never actually went into Demon Lord's palace yet... And I thought his father was the legendary warrior from I and II? Didn't he die in between II and III? I'm fairly sure that was mentioned at the beginning of III.

No, DWIII is a prequel to DW I & II. The hero from DWI is the descendant of Loto, the hero from DWI. The characters in DWII were the descendants of the hero from DWI.

Loto's father, mentioned in DWIII, is not related in any way to the earlier DW games.

I see... And IV, V, and VI are an entire different trilogy, correct? How does VII fall into the series?

Yes, the three games after DWIII are unrelated to the first three. I think VII is the start of a new story as well.

I haven't played beyond III so I don't really know a lot about the games after that.
