Well apparently there IS a chance of some alterations in this collection, according to someone from another forum. Here's what he said:
Alright everyone, I have all the details on the changes to the old school Mega Man games. Generally speaking, the games are going to be ported from Japanese re-releases (Mega Man 1-6 were released on seperate disks on the PSX in Japan in 1999). They will be translated, and tweaked as nessasary. I got Rockman 4 for PSX just the other day, and it alone was loaded with enough extras to keep me busy for the next few months. Here are what you guys can count on with the games:
Mega Man 1-3:
a) A "crisper" 8-bit graphic look
b) The original game, a "revised" version of the game with extras, including mini missions, boss fights, a gallery with new artwork of the bosses and characters in the respective game, and upgrades for Mega Man
c) Capcom is probably going to remix the soundtrack, but there is nothing to confirm this.
Mega Man 4-6:
a) Same as above
b) all soundtracks will be remixed/remastered (you can disable this, and go with the original soundtracks). I have heard the remixes and they sound 10 times better than the original. They were able to use more advanced instruments such guitar, keyboards, and even piano in some cases
Mega Man 7:
Very little is known at this point. All we know is Capcom of America is remixing the soundtrack. Since Capcom of Japan is not getting very involved in the remixing, we better hope they don't screw it up.
Mega Man 8:
We know nothing.
