It does actually look just like a normal phone that you could buy I mean the newer phones it looks like a two way (pager) a cell phone and a MP3 player witha built in game system.. If you buying this for a gaming consol then I must find you and kick you in the shin but if you travel alot and you want to be able to conserve space and play old games then it's a good buy..

I agree with TheGame,It's a CELL phone not maily a gaming console It's maily meant to be talked on and maybe the mp3's look at the marketing campaign.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Poll : Nokia N-Gage
Contrary to what Justin might think, I do understand Morpeus1's point. He doesn't like handhelds. I see that. And yet, he thinks the N-Gage games are more appealing. Saying that something sucks but is in some way better than the rest is a back-handed compliment, by the way.
What I am questioning (fine, you can call it attacking if you want) is Morpheus1's basis for saying that the N-Gage games are more appealing to him than the GBA's. He says so right here:

He might think N-Gage and GBA games suck, but apparently N-Gage games suck less.
Or have I got it all wrong? I'll happily stand corrected if that isn't what Morpheus1 is saying. But as far as I can tell, Morpheus1 doesn't like handhelds but still thinks N-Gage games are more interesting to him just because of the graphics. Maybe he has other reasons, but in multiple posts, he hasn't named them. If he thinks N-Gage games are more appealing because he thinks the gameplay possibilities offered by the N-Gage are better than those offered by the GBA, then fine. I respect that. If he just likes Tomb Raider better than Mario, then I respect that too. But once again, he hasn't given any indication that his preference is based on anything other than graphics.
And by the way, Morpheus1 is free to contradict review scores if he wants to. But if he hasn't played the actual games, I don't think he's in a position to disagree with reviewers who have.
So go ahead, Morpheus1. Name some reason other than graphics that you think N-Gage games, despite sucking, are more interesting to you than GBA games. That's all I've been wanting you to do because contrary to what it may seem like, I don't want you to be labeled a graphics whore. I am hoping graphics isn't the only reason you have. Maybe you also like Bluetooth. The moment you come up with something is the moment I get off your case and we all can have a productive conversation again.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Poll : Nokia N-Gage
Xantar, how is it your right to say that I am a graphics whore just because I find N-Gage to be more appealing to me than GBA? I said that if it wasn't for the price it would be no worse than GBA as an overall product not just as a game system. I also used THPS as an example of how the graphics can affect the gameplay. So what is your point? As far as I know you have none.
I don't have to be a graphics whore to pick a game with better graphics over the same game with worse graphics, no matter what score it got. For example, THPS1 on Dreamcast got a better score than THPS4 on Xbox, does it make me a graphics whore to go out and pick it up over THPS1? No.
At IGN Sonic Adventure got an 8.6 from IGN, and Sonic Adventure 2 got a 9.4 on Dreamcast. On Gamecube the same games with more features got a 5.0 and 6.9. Would that make me a graphics whore to pick up the Gamecube version of the game over the Dreamcast version? Hell no. So why should I trust reviews of any games that were ported?
I own a GBA and I know it sucks, and I know that it was a waste of money. I don't trust reviews, and from videos, screenshots, and previews I have read, I find N-Gage's games and the hardware itself to be more appealing. Why does that bother you so much? I look at THPS and I see a game that looks more appealing then anything I have played on GBA. Based off of graphics? Yes.
You compare.
GBA:

N-Gage:

Ps2 (one of my fav games)
This by far is the most tempting handheld game I have ever seen, but I'm a graphics whore because it looks like it plays better (more like the full version)? You have issues man

I just want to say that I'm with Xantar.
Controls and stuff are more important that graphics in my opinion....

I never said it wasn't as important. As you can see in my THPS pics, graphics can effect the gameplay and the way the whole game is played. I like good controls, but my definition of good controls could be way different from someone else's, that's why that is just an opinion that can't be enforced on everybody.
For example, PC players prefer the superior control of a keyboard and mouse for a FPS, while console players generally prefer a controler. Some Xbox fans would argue that Xbox has the best controler, some would argue that Gamecube has ther best, and some would argue that Ps2 has the best. If I would have listened to reviewers I wouldn't have touched Xbox with a 10 foot pole, but guess what? Right now I own all three (NGC, Ps2, Xbox) and Xbox is by far my favorite of the bunch.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Poll : Nokia N-Gage
*about Morpheus' Pics*
hmm...3 year old handheld vs. a few weeks old handheld.
You can't really compare graphics there. It's obvious the GBA can't pull a full regular 3D game (for the most part). It's like comparing the DC to the XBox.
For me, as long as gameplay is good, I will buy a game. I mean, look at Animal Crossing. Bad grapchis, but great gameplay.
But I don't want to throw this too far off topic. So I will get back to the original subject. If Nokia would've taken more time to make a better layout, this might've been a competitor. But since Nokia has made a few mistakes already with the N-Gage (bad layout, bad way to switch games, bad pricing), I just don't see this as a handheld. I see it as a cell phone with a few "snazzy features".

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Poll : Nokia N-Gage
Aha, now I get it. You're saying that the greater power of the N-Gage will allow better gameplay in the games (for example, Tony Hawk will actually be 3-d instead of isometric).
If you said this before and I simply missed it, then I apologize. It seems to me that I was not the only one to misunderstand, but let bygones be bygones. In any case, now that you've cleared that up, I have no issue with you.
Carry on.
