Playstation 3 Firmware 2.40 Walkthrough Video Part 1: The XMB

You know, this is the thing:

Because you 3 are the only big PS3 fans, you feel like you have to defend it, to create some hype for it. I understand that, I've done that for years for Nintendo.

But it's just annoying. 4 pages of "woohoo it's almost out! best thing ever!" just doesn't work.

Then Sony messes up and everybody wants to laugh at you just once. Just sucks for you that there are so many of us.

At least that's what I think the thing is.

I think we're trying to mostly introduce this console to these forums because before my arrival I'm sure you count on one hand how many threads popped up here that related to the PS3.

4 pages of "woohoo it's almost out" worked for us because who else was coming in here? Surely nobody else besides Vampyr for a bit and Dyne for 1 or 2 posts.

This place has been since I arrived here 1 big Wii/360 circle jerk. And I sat back not having the chance to talk about my favorite console because really, who here gave a shit about it? Now a few of us have arrived and some have emerged and now we have our chance to do what you guys do for the other consoles.

So here's how it goes, we make the thread, and as usual 95% of GT could care less because it has to do with the PS3. The we get it, we love it, and we say that. Well, the next day Sony retracts the firmware or as you say "messed up" when in fact all they did is retract it because part of the firmware download was botched for some people and they are actually fixing it immediately (unlike MS who will make your ass wait for their next seasonal update) and you guys all come out of nowhere with this anti-Sony/PS3 bullshit. Is it totally necessary for that anyways? Because myself, uber, and flunkie could care less if it was retracted because our firmware is working perfectly and we think it's great of Sony to be fixing it so promptly.

Now, I can understand some console ribbing and whatnot, this is a gaming forum. But why is it that me and flunkie are heckled about the same shit going on on here by this forums damn "Gaming side" Moderator? And I know this doesn't apply to you guys and it's separate from here but we have to put up with this shit so much that it gets very annoying because it's a constant barrage. flunkie ended up blocking BaB on AIM yesterday because his shit just wouldn't end, and it's that fanboy ignorance that pisses flunk and ourselves off.

And then when we make some peace in this thread and discuss the PS3 some and all is well BaB goes and makes a post in the podcast exploratory thread about changing the name of the podcast to "2.4 failure". Why, was a peaceful resolution in here not enough? Guess not.


To wrap this impromptu rant up, I just want to say that I'm not mad here, I'm just hoping we can eliminate some of this fanboy crap around here, because these forums are very cool.

IT wasn't just a lack of Sony stuff. The forums were slow in general for a while.

If you have a problem with me fine, but take it up with me in PM or over AIM.
And if you till don't think that won't resolve it. Take it up with Bond or Dyne or anyone here who outranks me. It doesn't need to be here.
As for Flunkie blocking me on AIM as far as I know I said nothing to him. This is the only conversation I held with him.

I would point out that I didn't come up with the name, it was Dyne. I only posted it, but eh I will take responsibility for putting it out in the public so whatever.
And it was "Broken 2.40" if you are going to use it. Get it right.
